BASIC RULES

In order to achieve the right effect for the finished water feature, you have to be aware of the differences between the individual water features and their possibilities.

For this we have 10 basic rules that must be observed when planning.

  1. Not under trees:
Falling leaves, insects and bird droppings contaminate the water and can clog the suction filter in the pump circuit.
  2. Not in wind corridors
Unfavorable wind conditions destroy the desired water pattern and can carry the water from the fountains over the edge of the pool. The fountain must not be larger than its distance from the edge of the pool.
  3. water-saving pool depth
Because of the water changes necessary for pool cleaning and to avoid accidents, the pool and therefore the water depth should only be as deep as necessary.
  4. protection through cover gratings
The recesses in the tank that are necessary to accommodate the technology should be covered with grates.
  5. overflow drain to the sewer
To make it easier to empty and clean the pool, an overflow drain to the sewer should be provided.
  6. fresh water supply
Especially in public facilities, a permanently installed fresh water pipe with automatic refilling and pump dry-run protection should be provided.
  7. securing the power supply
Power cables should be routed through a cable protection pipe into the fountain basin; this is essential for public facilities.
  8. Choosing the right pump
Fountain pumps are subjected to tough continuous operation requirements and must therefore be specially designed and built for their intended purpose.
  9. Choosing the right electrical switchgear
The electrical switchgear must be coordinated with the pumps and lighting circuits and be equipped with the special protection and safety devices for fountain systems.
  10. Safe wintering
Precautions for winter storage should be taken into account during the planning stage. The pumps in particular must be housed in a frost-proof location.
